This performance is the culmination of a two-day residency with composer and pianist Richard Pearson Thomas. Through intensive master class work with student vocalists and composers, the students will create the works they perform in Friday night’s performance.

The final performance will be held on Friday, Feb. 10 at 7:30 p.m. in Corthell Concert Hall on the University of Southern Maine’s Gorham campus. 

The master classes are free and open to the public (donation optional). The Friday night concert tickets are $15 general, $10 seniors, students, USM employees and alumni.

Thursday:  Feb 9.  3-5 p.m., Corthell Concert Hall, free and open to the public
Master Class for Vocalists

Masterclass Featuring OSOM vocalists and composer Richard Pearson Thomas. This masterclass is a rare opportunity to witness a composer move from paper to performance.  RPT works with OSOM’s vocalists on original compositions.

Master Class for Composers and Their Vocalists

Richard Pearson Thomas Collaborative Masterclass, featuring OSOM composition students.  OSOM composers and singers have paired to create new works to be coached by Composer-in-Richard Pearson Thomas.

OSOM’s composition and vocal students are featured in a night of original compositions.  Composer Richard Pearson Thomas will be at the piano as OSOM singers bring his music to life, followed by premieres of piano/vocal works of the OSOM Composition Program.
