The Southern Maine Symphony Orchestra and the Portland Youth Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. William Kinne, invite you to a concert showcasing outstanding student soloists and symphonic classics in the McCormack Performing Arts Center at Gorham High School on Saturday, April 6 at 2:00 p.m.

The winners of the 2024 Osher School of Music Concerto Competition will take the stage to perform with the orchestra. Rising stars, Michael Bostock and Oren Varess will each perform a movement of piano concertos by Shostakovich and Beethoven. Tenor Jared Vigue will perform the aria “Ecco ridente in cielo” from Il barbiere di Siviglia by Gioachino Rossini, and Chase Whelan will perform Cécile Chaminade's showpiece, the Concertino for Flute.

The concert will conclude with symphonic masterworks “Capriccio Italien” by Peter Tchaikovsky and “An Outdoor Overture” by Aaron Copland.
